Serious Injury

The white dudes have this game they play, where Cotton gets revved up and running around the house at top speed. Winter jumps in and plants himself in Cotton's way, and they play chicken to see who moves or changes course first. This has resulted in many a good natured collision over the years, but never any injuries. Today, blood was drawn.

The littlest dude is being surprisingly stoic. He shook it off, and after getting cleaned up and swabbed with Neosporin, he went back down to the end of the hall to reenact his impression of a bowling ball.

Winter the cat is not accepting responsibility. He says his claws were only drawn to help him grip the carpet, and it's part of the game. He has requested, however, that the littlest dude take his turn at being the pin for once.

  1. OY Janice you scared the HELL out of me!!!! On that tiny little picture that shows a new blog entry on my blog roll, it looked like Cotton had a cone-yikes. I am glad Cotton Dude is ok despite some loss of blood, a little blood? "Impression of a bowling ball"-funny :) I had no idea that Winter Man and Cotton played together like that. Glad everyone is still standing, er rolling.

  2. Oops sorry. It was a reference to The Rain Man, and perhaps an over-exaggeration. I didn't mean to scare you.

White Dude Bowling is reenacted daily around here, and has since been played without further injuries.

  4. Tell him if it's any consolation my cat did the exact same thing to my foot last week. Hurt worse that pretty much anything that's ever been done to me intentionally!

  5. In Cotton's case, he's 2/3 the size of the cat, so I suspect that he's pretty proud to hold his own in these games.

Tattytiara, you're right. Cat scratches can hurt like a son of a gun. I'm just hoping it doesn't get infected.

  6. Taking turns is very imoprtant in that kind of game so as to even out the odds of having fun. Hope he's better.

  7. Janice, uh what happened to 'drawing the line in the sand"? Did I get lost wandering over here too early in the morning?

  8. You're too fast, RR. I deemed that post not worthy and deleted it last night. I didn't think anybody had seen it yet, but now I've put it back. Sorry for the confusion.
